The Client manufactures soap powder and tablets under many well-known brand names. Factories in Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK all use the same design of system to produce these powders
The existing system involves several hundred containers distributed around the factory on an automatic roller conveyor system. The existing filling and discharging system does not provide a clean environment and needs regular maintenance.
ISL offered a ‘cone valve upgrade’ system to replace one of the existing transfer hoppers and yet continue to operate in this automated environment without any major changes. An important feature of an upgrade system is that the existing control panel can be used with the fitting of an additional relay – further reducing the cost of the upgrade. ISL offered a satisfaction-guaranteed program where ISL would waive payment for the upgrade if the client's objectives were not met.
The system has been in place and working with no problems. ISL met the cleaning and maintenance objectives and the upgrade has helped to reduce production costs through reduced downtime and a lower annual cost of spares.
